Sponsorship

Sponsorship gives businesses the opportunity to place their brand in the forefront of the minds of their target audience, but sponsorship deals can often lead to disappointment if the parties' respective rights and obligations are not documented properly. If you are sponsoring something or someone, you need to make sure that you get the most out of the money you spend. Key issues will include:

  • specifying precisely what rights the sponsor has
  • protecting the sponsor's brand against being used outside the planned environment and scope
  • setting clear conditions in which the parties can back out of the deal, including the return of any sponsorship money
