Online gaming banned in US
A law has been passed in the US that effectively prevents US residents from using online gaming sites, a serious blow for the industry. It covers the lucrative poker sector as well as sports betting.
The ban was passed on 29 September under cover of the Safe Ports Act, having failed at a previous attempt.
The Act prohibits credit card companies from processing payments related to online gaming for US residents.
