Increases in the National Minimum Wage

The National Minimum Wage increased with effect from 1 October 2010 as follows:

 

  • Adult workers are now classed from the age of 21 and see an increase from £5.80 to £5.93
  • The development rate for workers aged 18 to 21 increases from £4.83 to £4.92
  • Workers aged 16 and 17 see an increase from £3.57 to £3.64
  • A new hourly rate of £2.50 is also introduced for apprentices.
