iLaw launches employment practice
iLaw, the niche technology/media City law firm, has branched out into employment law with the recruitment of Rory O’Connor.
Rory has joined the firm from Furley Page, where he had been a partner and head of employment for 5 years. Prior to that, Rory practised with Ernst and Young and Bird & Bird. With 20 years’ experience, he brings more than the traditional employment practice to the firm. Rory has a background in transactional and incentive-based law. As such, he is able to provide employment advice on the firm’s outsourcing transactions, as well as helping clients with the HR aspects of domestic and international deals or restructurings. In addition, he has a specialist practice advising on executive arrangements.
Rory’s employment experience goes beyond the usual ‘contracts and disputes’ practice of many firms, and so fits with the innovative ethos of iLaw. It allows our clients to benefit from the kind of specialised services that are normally the domain of the very large firms, without paying large firm rates. Adding and growing an employment capability complements our existing services, as all our clients have requirements in that area.
